Tonight, trifreaks.com politely informed me that there are 4 DAYS, 10 HOURS, AND 7 MINUTES left until the big day. EEEP. I thought I’d use this post to share the views of the island, where my training has taken place for the past couple of months. I am fortunate enough to live in a place where the scenery is so breathtaking that it’s tough to get sick and tired of the “same old, same old.” I call this bit the Surf & Turf combo, since I use the costal routes for my runs and then head inland to the back country roads for biking.

One of my fave roads, Sleeper Road. Hilly, but super tree-y and quiet. Name suits it well.
HORSIE FRIENDS!!!!! and where you find horses...........
.......you find their excrements. I didn't think I was training for a cycling obstacle course. But I still can't figure out why even though the horses are in their pens, there are PILES of this &%#! in the roads. Does it fall off a manure truck or something? Someone with farm sense please enlighten me.
So anyways, on to the "Surf" segment. Love love LOVE how green this state is. This is the little path down to the boardwalk and water.

And alas, I'll conclude with a goodie, because nobody can resist writing in the low tide sand with a stick:
