Here we go!
First, you clad yourself in skin tight materials, dive in to open waters, and SWIM. Then, still dripping wet with lungs on fire, you clamber onto your awaiting cycle, and zoom off for the long haul: BIKE. No break at the end of this stretch, no, because just when you think your leg muscles are about to crumble and your energy tank is on E, bam…you hit the pavement and run, run, run, and RUN.
Who in their right mind does this to their body and mind for any distance, whether it’s a Sprint Triathlon or the awe-inspiring Ironman??
Triathletes, that’s who.
And I’m about to embark on a mission to join this rank of athletes, the ones who eat, breath, and sleep the trio of sports, swimming, biking, and running. Why? To push my mind and body to new limits, to test exactly what my human ability is capable of. And for toned muscles and six pack maintenance, of course.
