Today I did two great things for my body:
I.....
1.) ate clean all day
2.) did some yoga/stretching and light resistance reps for the ol' jiggly glutes.
I also did one not-so-great thing for my body:
1.) I did not take in enough calories. And probably not enough fluids now that I think about it.
For an exclusively breastfeeding mother, that's a no-no. I'm pretty sure it directly impacted my milk supply, too, since my pumping sessions produced less today compared to other days when I binge eat and guzzle H2O like it's my job (it is). I'd like to blame my busy and neverending holiday gift wrapping spree for the reason why I was negligent about my calorie intake, but this is where I need to be a big girl. Prioritize and make the right decision. 10 or 20 minutes out of my 4 hour long wrapping process to whip up something filling and healthy really wouldn't have put a damper on my day nor set me behind in my gift wrapping marathon.
It made me realize that this is a whole new game: leading a healthy and clean lifestyle while caring for two kiddos, one of them a tiny infant who is 100% dependent on his mama's milk. I need healthy calories not only for myself, but for my son, who happens to keep me very busy which doesn't always allow much time for healthy cooking. Vicious cycle much?
Tomorrow's goal will be to maintain my clean eating but also add in my extra healthy cals. And water! All while loving on and caring for my little fambam during the hustle and bustle of Christmas.
